A national minimum wage has been implemented in Germany as of 1 January 2015. This statutory wage is binding not only to German employers but also to those established abroad if they employ workers in Germany. This includes, in particular, posting situations.
Information about the launch of the electronic minimum wage registration website on 1 January 2017
The Ordinance on Minimum Wage Documentation Obligations (Mindestlohndokumentationspflichtenverordnung - MiLoDokV) had been revised; the recast ordinance came into force on 1 August 2015.
The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has established a Minimum Wage Helpline for any enquiries citizens, employees and employers may have about the minimum wage and its implications.
